Hildie Cain, Architect - Adaptive Reuse projects

A high end office building constructed in 1986 was converted for use as an Assisted Living facility.  The eight story, 22,000 sf building now houses four floors with 3 each 1 bedroom suites, common kitchens and social areas.  The first floor includes a restaurant and the remaining floors are used as Adult Daycare and event spaces.  Project completed in 2024.

This small automotive service garage was converted for use as a boutique grocery store and adjacent coffee shop.  The coffee shop includes plant sales, and a small portion of the outside area was converted for alfresco dining.

An existing car wash building on an underutilized lost was converted for use as a retail location for Bosco's Comics- a beloved Anchorage institution.  In addition to retail sales, the facility is also used for gaming nights and occasional cosplay.

A decommisioned fire station was remodeled and upgraded for use as a high performance bicycle sales and repair shop.
