This building has been designed to showcase the history and culture of the Dena'ina Athabaskan people that originally inhabited this area. In 1847 the first Russian settlers arrived and the two cultures became intertwined. The 5,000 square foot building will include a small concession area, coffee shop and office space in addition to the large exhibition area. It is intended to compliment the existing Russian Orthodox Church on the adjacent site which is listed on the National Register of HIstoric Places. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026.
